MLM duplication: How do you duplicate yourself in your business?
A few days ago, I came a cross a wonderful book written by Don Failla called "The 45 Second Presentation that will change your life". I was absolutely blown away by the simple strategies for MLM duplication. The reason why so many people fail in MLM Network marketing is due to the lack of MLM duplication training and endurance. That book gave me faith again to reach out to the offline world. This book is an introduction to MLM, how to get a head start and reduce the level of attrition in your MLM network marketing organization.
Don Failla presents 10 Napkin Presentations to turn a newbie into a serious network marketer. The the first four presentations aim to provide a strong foundation for any MLM duplication. Below are listed the first four MLM duplication presentations.
MLM Duplication Napkin Presentation 1: “Two Times Two is Four”
Main key element: Get 5 serious people and support them.
4 Key MLM duplication points:
With your prospect write down on a piece of paper 2×2=4 then 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 (see picture). It is essential to show this representation as soon as you introduce the prospect to your program. Because it will take away from their mind the idea that they need to recruit thousands of people to be successful in MLM. You only need to find 5 serious people in your front line not an army of people.
Showing that graph also explains implicitly that they do not have to sale anything but instead by building their organization, they will be moving the products and get paid for their effort.
MLM Duplication Napkin Presentation 2: “Salesman failure Syndrome”
Main key point: Teach your serious people how to teach not to sale.
You need to be able to teach Roy how to teach Mars, for Mars to be able to sponsor Joyce (see diagram).
You need to work with the people you sponsored to get them started properly by sponsoring somebody else who will learn to sponsor somebody else and continue the duplication in your organization.
MLM Duplication Napkin Presentation 3: “Four things you have to do”
Main key point : Teach your people how to teach others.
Don Failla uses the analogy with driving a car.
To move your car, your MLM company, you need to get your car into gear.
First gear- Sign up with your company and get started.
Second gear- Use the products of the company you represent. This is crucial. This is how you shift the products and assure a residual income.
Third gear- You want your 5 serious people to sponsor 5 other people as well. When each one of your five will have 5 people then you will be in 2nd gear 25 times each. Which will then put you in third gear 125 times, are you still following?. You need to teach your 5 serious people how to teach others to be in first, second, third and fourth gear. Welcome to the MLM Duplication University.
Fourth gear- Share your products with people for them to experience your products and see the benefits. Even if initially you are looking for people who want to join your business to make an extra income, the people who you are sharing the products with may well be your next serious business builders. Retailing will not move your business forward as much as sponsoring new distributors.

MLM Duplication Napkin Presentation 4: “Digging down to bedrock”
Main key point: Building a strong foundation
Anybody who joins an MLM can feel overwhelmed and discouraged when they compare their results with top Gurus. As an MLM leader you need to make sure they had their training month. The first 2 to 6 weeks should be considered as training month after that it’s their starting month. During that time, they will sponsor and apply what they are learning. I read one day that “ignorance of fire “ is better than “knowledge on ice”.
The first training session starting with the First Napkin Presentation 2×2 = 4 is to get them exited about the possibilities in MLM and to continue the duplication.
Don Failla makes the analogy with an office building under construction. When you first begin you can’t see much about your work, but the deeper you build your organization the more visibility and leverage you will get. The more you digg the more you will be able to reach bedrock. You need to build your foundation deep, to reach high gear and high income.
P.S. It is essential to understand that before sponsoring you need to prospect. Prospecting for new leads is the life blood of our business. Becoming an expert at it is paramount to our success.
